While desperately lookign for anything that looked like a British Banger in my local supermarket, I came across some Ball Park Brockwurst. They were plump and pink and looked delicous, so I bought them, took them home and sliced and fried them. They tasted good - but what else can I do with them (I don't have a crockpot before you ask) - any suggestions?

Well,
First buy some gorditas sized (7") tortillas. A couple of bell peppers (red and green or anaheim chili peppers - they're quite mild). Red onion Tablespoon (or to taste) of commercially available chili powder (something not too hot) Scallions A couple plum tomatoes Avocado (peeled and diced) Your favorite fresh salsa (why make it when there are very good quality fresh salsas out there) A good quality (cows milk) feta cheese (or maytag style blue cheese, or one you like crumbled or grated) This is a little quick (and not terribly fattening) throw together meal that looks and tastes good. Slice the sausages into 1/4 inch thick coins, de-seed and dice the bell peppers Finely chop a red onion, as well as the scallions. Peel, de-seed (by squeezing), and finely chop a couple of tomatoes. Heat an oven to 170, wrap the tortillas in aluminum foil and place in the oven (for about 15 minutes or so) In a *very* hot saute pan, heat a tablespoon or two of olive oil. When smoking (if you have one, turn on extractor - if you set the smoke alarm off, you're at the right temperature), throw in the bell peppers and onions and cook until the edges start to brown. Remove to a plate. Throw in the sausages and cook quickly, remove to the plate with the peppers/onions, drain off any excess fat that accumulates. Return peppers/onions/sausages to the pan and sprinkle the mixture with the chili powder, saute constantly for about 2/3 minutes (it may smoke, but keep it moving). Add the chopped tomatoes and scallions at the last minute (you don't want them to go soggy), and give it all a final quick shake/saute. Remove to a warm serving platter and serve with the tortillas, salsa, cheese and avacodo... (Good fun food, makes your hands and face all messy!) Also works well with shrimp/lobster...
